The central theme of the Bible is the love of God for humanity. “ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (KJV)
Love was exposed when Jesus Christ, the son of the Most High God, came into the world as a human being, lived a sinless life, died on the cross of Calvary, and rose again from the dead. Because Christ died, you can be forgiven, and because he conquered death you can have eternal life 1Co 15:51-52. You can know for sure what will become of you after you die. Rom 3:23
You probably heard the story of God's love being referred to as, “The Gospel”. The word, Gospel, means "Good News" a very simple theme. The Gospel is the Good News Mk 1:15 and because of what Christ has done, we can be forgiven and can live forever Romans 3:23.
But you cannot be a recipient of the gift of forgiveness and eternal life unless you willingly accept it. God demands an individual response from you. The following verses from the Bible show God's part and yours in this process: |
